Suggest Treatment For Oral Thrush And Sore Throat While On Z-pack
Question: I had a antibiotic shot and have been on a Z pack till two days ago for a cold and bad cough. I have developed Thrush and sore throat (which I have had before about 10 years ago). What is the best protocol to get rid of this? Thanks

This is common side effect of antibiotic treatment. For mild oral thrush, the usual treatment that is to be tried first is Miconazole mouth gel for seven days.
Sometimes a two-week course is needed. Nystatin drops are another option if miconazole gel cannot be used, or in cases of severe trush.
Also, when antibiotics are stopped, thrush should recover quickly and spontaneuosly.
