Question: I have Oral Thrush due to side effects of a drug I was taking. My Dr prescribed Nystatin oral Suspension And
that has not helped so then I am now on Fluconazole 150 mg. I took the first one three days ago, but hasn't
helped so I today took the second one, even tho I was supposed to wait another week. Do you have any other other suggestions as I am very tired of having this. I am a 75 year old female. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Clotrimazole lozenge is another option

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing in.

Though you are taking right medication and continue the same for at least 1 more week, still if it's not relieved then you may go with Clotrimazole lozenge. You can leave it in mouth till it dissolves.

Moreover, try to take cool liquids and use straw for drinking if it's painful. Warm salt water rinses will help in faster healing.

If it still doesn't resolve then consult an oral surgeon.
Hope I answered your query
