Suggest Treatment For Pain And Dent On Back Of Head Post Injury

Question: My 9 month old son was recently hit in the back of the head by a falling object. His mother and I have noticed a dent in the back of his head around the spot of impact. He doesn't act any different or act like it hurts when we touch it he has spit up a couple times but he has acid reflux as well so it isn't odd for him to do so. We are worried and don't know wether to take him to the ER or just wait it out. Some advice would be nice!!

Your son is apparently not having a severe head injury clinically, as it was not associated with loss of consciousness or any other neurological deficit.

A small dent can normally occur after an injury. You can give non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (under a physician's supervision), which will decrease pain and other symptoms of post traumatic inflammation. It does not appear to be a medical or surgical emergency.
