Suggest Treatment For Pain And Numbness In The Feet

Question: Have Numbness in my feet more in the front half of both my feet , I am a diabetic and 46 yrs old ...Numbness and lingering pain only in feet more concentrated towards toes ....what would be the best medicine for the same ...is Neuobion fortw recommended

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your symptoms and they are suggestive of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). In this condition, the nerves in the skin get affected.

The best medicine in this condition is gabapentin or pregabalin capsule. They can be taken twice daily.

Neurobion forte (vitamin B12 and other vitamins) can be continued.

Thanks for the response ...can U please confirm the dosage (mg) of the Gabapentin or Pregabalin capsules

Would they also help in Erectile Dysfunction due to Diabetes type2 .....also need to know if there are side effects ...and can I continue to take Penegra 100mg along with this tab

The usual dose of gabapentin is 300 mg two times daily, and it can be increased after a month depending on the response. Pregabalin is started at a dose of 75 mg once daily at night and can be increased to twice daily after 2 week intervals, depending on the response.

There are no significant side effects. Some people do complain of dizziness in the initial period.

These would not help in erectile dysfunction. You can continue Penegra (Sildenafil) 100 mg with these.
