Question: Yes, your answer makes sense. However, the back roof of my mouth is still raw but, much less flem. I did not try antihistamine. This has been going on for 6 weeks now. Thinking that I am dehydrated, I have cut down on coffee and drinking much more water. Still no change. I am thinking about having my PCP look at me this week. Any other thoughts?

Advil is an anti inflammatory drug that reduces pain and swelling. But you would have taken anti histamine like cetrizine by this time you would have been fine. Any how for that raw areas on the roof of the mouth you can apply topical steroids like triamcinolone acetoide(0.1%) ointment. Do warm saline gargling. You need to consult a physician and get it evaluated. You drink lot of fluids.
