Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling On Collarbone
Question: Kind of you to ask! Thank you.
My collarbone knobs are painful and I have swelling on the other side of my neck to an already diagnosed 2cm parathyroid adenoma. My glands are also enlarged under my chin and I have intermittent pain in the soft tissue at the inside of my elbow and the inside of my knee on the side of the swollen neck gland.
A chest X-ray has ruled out any chest lymphadenopathy, but the ends of my clavicles nearest the sternum look a bit spindly and strange on the X-ray. I am on a surgeon's list for removal of the parathyroid gland, but I worry about having an operation (even a minimally invasive one) if my neck glands are swollen.

Brief Answer:
Parathyroid
Detailed Answer:
I understand your concern.
I am sure you plan to share this with your surgeon too. If not, please do so.
To me, it does not seem to be an impediment to surgery in the parathyroid area. That being said, any swollen glands in the neck area merit thorough evaluation.
Kindly present your symptoms to your surgeon who will perform a comprehensive in-person examination and see if that mater needs to addressed first before proceeding with parathyroid surgery.

Many thanks for your reply - it is much appreciated.
My surgeon's view when I saw him on Tuesday was along the lines of "let's get the PTH adenoma removed first and see what you are left with".
I have seen my GP again today to discuss the chest X-ray which he says reveals osteo-arthritis of the sterno-clavicular joint.
I myself think it is some type of inferior bone remodelling from having high calcium and PTH (max serum ca 2.73, XXXXXXX PTH 12 - but not from same blood draw) for so long (6-10 years, I believe).
I am reassured by your reply and will now press on to get a surgery date to have the adenoma removed.
My sincere thanks again for your reply. XXXXXXX Crisp.
