Suggest Treatment For Pain And Tenderness In The Arms
Question: I have had more than 10 chemo infused treatments in my right arm while the chemo has ended my arm is killing me with pain to the touch, weakness, and tenderness and hurts to move or use the strength while i take tylenol and use hot and cold to treat it nothing seems to help for long i think the vein is the problem that they used what can i do to relieve the pain??
this arm has no visible signs of damage the pain is not in joints as they can move the pain is in middle section of outer upper arm and fatty part of lower arm above and below elbow and occasionally in wrist
chemo was administered mostly in same vein on wrist and sometimes hand i have stage 3A lung cancer with standard chemo treatments

Brief Answer:
Thrombophlebitis
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. The chemotherapeutic agents are venous irritants and cause damage to the veins. This is responsible for the pain you describe (due to thrombophlebitis). You may benefit from application of Thrombophob gel or Hirudoid ointment (contains heparin or similar anticoagulants).
Please be patient. It will take 1-3 days for things to return to normal.
