Suggest Treatment For Pain Caused After Surgeries For Fractures

Posted on Thu, 11 Sep 2014
Question: Hello, My name is XXXXXXX XXXX, and after a high-speed, head-on mva resulting in 47 Fx's, 26 orthopaedic surgeries and almost 3 years of PT/OT, I am still in incredible amounts of pain. My physicians are reluctant to prescribe pain medications, due to their high risk for opioid dependence. However, I am unable to function with any degree of accuracy without some level of pain control. Since getting a script from my physician is not possible, I'm looking into trying to get relief elsewhere (online). I am running into many issues here as well, since everyone wants a prescription from a doctor.
What can I do??

Brief Answer:
Unfortunately we can't be of much help either.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Thank you for posting your query here on healthcaremagic.

I am terribly sorry for what you are going through, I can understand the pain and suffering, but unfortunately we can't help you much either.

We are not allowed to write prescriptions online, by the law. As far as I can see, that would be case with every online portal, You will not get a prescription online if you are looking for that.

Going through so many surgeries and having suffered 47 fractures is no trivial an ordeal, my suggestion to reduce pain is to start with Yoga/gradual stretching exercises.

I am advising yoga because it is one form of exercise that involves gradual stretching of muscles and ligaments. The pain after recovering from all the fractures and surgeries is mostly due to disuse atrophy and contractures resulting from prolonged immobilisations and healing process.

So the gradual stretching exercises will help you regain that muscle length, it takes at least one year but you will have much better life at the end of the year.

You will need to do these exercises in a particular order and you will have to do most of them so as to ensure that all the muscles of your body are getting the exercise, because the individual yoga exercises focus on either individual muscles or one particular group of muscles.

Apart from this, you will also benefit from hot compresses twice a day to the areas which are most painful.

I hope this information will be of use to you, please feel free to write back if you have any queries regarding the answer. If you are only looking for a prescription, you can close the discussion and send a mail to YYYY@YYYY for refund.

Wishing you a pain free life.

Kind regards
