Brief Answer:
Please give details.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Ideally you should not take any medicines for abdominal adhesion.

Pure adhesion do not cause any pain or other related symptoms.
I would advise you to undergo all the relevant investigation to find out what are the problems/ complaints associated with this.

Please tell us more about your symptoms.
Is this after some surgery or after some disease like tuberculosis ?
Any treatment history?

Please come back with details.

The pain in my abdomial area has never gone away after having the three surgeries. I was told he could be muscle and nerve damage and Abdominal adhesions. I have had many CT scans and everything seems to be alright. Pain never goes away and I can barely stand it any more. Don't know where to turn to next. I cannot function and had to stop working because the pain is do severe. I have had two nerve blocks one behind wall of stomach the other inside stomach please advise what should I do next I am miserable. Nothing seems to relieve pain. Please advise. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Detailed history and investigations

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.

History of 3 surgeries on abdomen noted as also the nerve blocks.

You say the pain has never gone away. > Does this mean the pain is continuous, uninterrupted?
What is the character of the pain? > burning / pin pricking / twisting / spasmodic / any other type?

Are these symptoms associated?::
*distension of abdomen / bloating?
*Nausea / vomiting ?
* Constipation / Obstipation ( unable to pass feces and flatus/ gases ?
*Referred pain to any other part of the body like back / shoulder?
*Any problem with the lower limbs?
* What surgeries were done and what was the indication?
* Is the pain in the abdominal wall or inside of the abdomen
* Are there any factors which increase the pain?
*Are there any factors which reduce the pain?

Many CT scans are already done>
I would advise to have >
-X-ray of the abdomen in the standing position
-Enteroclysis - dynamic, barium study under a fluroscopic control to know hoe the bowel are behaving actually.
-MRI of the spine to see that there is no spinal problem like disc or any other disease.

I hope to get a detailed answer to the above question for me to help you for the diagnosis.
90 % of the diagnosis can be done on the very proper history a patient provides.

Pain is all the time. It burns pin pricks and feels like something is always pulling like the muscles cannot move properly. And sometimes it just hurts I have distinction of abdomen and very nauseated very often. I have chronic constipation but bowels move daily with medication. I do have a vertebrate slipping off disc in lumbar area of the back. MRI was done to see this however that is still a problem nerve block was done but no relief .I don't really know if pain is inside or out of abdomen. Two nerve blacks were done one behind abdomen wall and one inside with no relief. X ray has been done in standing position. Enterocylsis has not been done .

Let me also add I feel a hard pressure on my bladder which makes it difficult to urinate

Can the mesh that was inserted for incisional hernia repair be causing this pain

I have no appetite and have to force myself to eat. I have lost 28 lbs in about nine months. The pain is ALWAYS there

Brief Answer:
Neurological as well as mechanical.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
Your information of < Pain is all the time. It burns pin pricks and feels like something is always pulling like the muscles cannot move properly.> indicates neurological in origin.

You have distension, nausea, constipation and loss of appetite. These indicate intestinal obstruction component.

Disc in lumbar area may not be really associated with pain in abdomen. IT gives symptoms in the legs and buttocks and rarely the bladder problems.
I would advise to have a review MRI for the cervical and thoracic region.

What was the report of standing X-ray of the abdomen?
You have to have Enteroclysis as advised.
Difficulty in urinating can be secondary to persisting pain in abdomen also.
Yes mesh can cause pain, but it will be localized to the area where it is inserted. And never so much as you have.

A possibility can be thought to have a relief with another surgery if the investigations suggest so.

You can discuss about the role of Gabapentin / Amytryptilin / Tegritol with your treating Doctor. You need a prescription and dose adjustment according to your individual needs. I hope this may help you a lot.

Lots of oral fluids, exercises as tolerated, change of atmosphere, sort of a vacation also may help as the same place all the time and same environment does have a depressive effect as you are suffering so much.

You can also try acupressure or acupuncture as an alternate therapy.
