The pain is vetting worse just on my left ovary especially around my period..curious if that could cause a swollen abdomen
Brief Answer:
Pancreatitis / Endometriosis
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
The pain you have described could be due to 2 reasons:
1) Endometriosis of ovary. This condition typically leads to pain the ovary especially around menses and continues on and off.
2) The other possibility could be pancreatitis pain which is seen in left lower abdomen and confuses with ovarian pain. It could just be your pancreatitis pain which is reffered. Please review with your doctor who is treating you with pancreatitis to find if its worsening and leading to this pain.
3) Also get transvaginal ultrasound scan to confirm presence of chocolate cyst in the ovary ( also called endometriotic cysts) which can be removed laparoscopically if present.
These could also cause mild swelling of abdomen.
Please see your doctor and follow above advice accordingly.
Let me know if you have further queries.
