Suggest Treatment For Pain In Eye After Taking Triamcinolone Injection

My question is what could be the reason behind his severe unbearable eye pain. And should he continue with the injection because after he took it his pain got way worse and he can’t see at all with it.
List of possibilities listed; yes, I think he should continue the steroids
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. In my opinion there could be 2-3 possibilities for his presentation, they are:
+Acute iritis as stated by his doctor. This usually occurs due to infections, trauma, etc.
+Glaucoma: Sudden appearance of pain is a serious sign when it comes to glaucoma and has to be reported immediately. You could request your father to ask his doctor to check his intra-ocular pressure (IOP)
+Diabetic retinopathy: A complication of poorly controlled blood glucose levels. We should strongly suspect this after checking his HbA1c levels (if elevated, then retinopathy could be the cause)
Triamcinolone is a steroid specially used for the eyes, and helps greatly to help inflammation and irritation, I would suggest he continues the use of the steroid for now. But at the sometime go ahead with the initiation of antibiotic and antiviral medications as well, in order to tackle all aspects of this.
I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.
Best wishes.
