Question: I was diagnosed as having phlebitis and treated with antibitics2 years ago. Pain and swelling has continued to this time enven though recent endovenous ablation laser surgery on the affected leg was done 4 weeks ago. This vasculoar surgeon said he has nothing to do with ankles, and aked me to go to the podiatrist. What should I do and what specialy doctor I have to choose? Help me.

Brief Answer: Consult a Podiatrist or an orthopedician Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for your query. Pain in a post-PVD (Peripheral vascular disease ) could most probably be due to complications secondary to the ischemia caused by the same. I would consider it essential for you to consult a Orthopedician or a podiatrist to rule out the same. Also do make sure that the Doppler scan in the affected limb is within prescribed limits. if there is any sort of blockade it is important to clear it before consulting the orthopedician. Wish you good health. Regards,
