Suggest Treatment For Pain In Lower Left Leg Causing Pain While Walking

default
Posted on Mon, 13 Jul 2015
Question: Hello, I woke up this morning with an ache in my lower left leg. It's in the inside just above my ankle. It definitely tender to touch and hurts more when I flex my foot. Walking is painful but not unbearable to the point I'm limping. It is not warm to the touch and there is no redness or bruising. I want to learn if there are any additional symptoms I should be concerned with regarding a possible blood clot. The reason for my thought on that is I am overweight and I haven't injured myself (that I can remember) to where I would think it is fractured, etc. Would love your professional opinion.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
It is not blood clot

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I can assure you that blood clot never present like this. Blood clot forms usually in patients with prolonged bed rest due to surgeries or trauma. Especially common in middle age or adult. You are not from that age group. Most probably your pain can be due to wrong sleeping posture or tenosynovitis.
I would recommend you to follow hot water fomentation and local gel application. You should also apply compression bandage and do not pu weight on affected side. You should also keep an eye on fever, increase temperature or redness in that area. If that happened then you need to show it to physcian.
thanks
