Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Abdomen
![default](/r/images/default.png)
YYYY@YYYY
It needs further evaluation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Pain above right side of abdomen could be related to gall bladder (par of liver) or sometimes gastric/stomach pain may also be felt on the right side or it may be related to muscular origin or right side kidney stone.
But it needs to be evaluated further by complete medical history with clinical examination and various tests to come at a certain conclusion.
Without complete examination and tests,it is very difficult to comment about the diagnosis.
So,you may need to undergo some routine blood works, liver function tests and ultrasound abdomen to detect the underlying cause.Your family doctor or some local physician may know about it.
But before further discussion, let me know some more information,
Whether the pain is constant or intermittent?
Is it relieved by itself or taking some over the counter pain killers?
Have you tried any medications yet?
Any history of past disease?
is there any relation with food?
Kindly get back to me with more information as I asked.

continue using pain killer
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for more information,
From your answers,it is likely evident that of musculo-skeletal origin and I would suggest you to continue using pain killer (oxycodone).
Since it is intermittent and not related to food,it rules out the underlying liver or stomach pathology most probably,so no need to worry.

Thanks again,if I must,I will call my specialist who did a colonoscopy.
can NOT confirm about the muscular pain
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome again,
It seems to be a muscular pain as per the given data by you and probably is not indicative of underlying pathology.
However,as I said earlier,it needs to be evaluated further by complete clinical examination and some relevant tests to rule out the other possibilities like you have history of diverticulosis. It should also be ruled out whether it is because of diverticulosis or something else.
Here,I can NOT confirm about the muscular pain as there is no way that I can examine you.
You can talk to your doctor who did colonoscopy and meanwhile, you can continue to use pain killers. Your doctor will examine you and if needed,he/she may suggest you to undergo ultrasound.

Dr.Sandip Kabra
