Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Left Ankle While On Coumadin

Question: Every 20-30 saeconds i get a pain that feels like an electric impulse. the pain only lasts for about 5 seconds then goes away. the pain is just above my left ankle and goes up maybe 6 inches of my lower shin. that is the only place i feel this pain. I am on coumadin and wonder if this could be a blood clot.

The electric like pain that you have is likely to be related to a mild nerve root compression or irritation. This can be related to lower back pain also. This is not related to coumadin intake or a blood clot as there is no persistent pain or swelling. Taking methylcobalamin supplements can help in reducing this sensation. In case the sensation persists then do consult a neurologist for examination.
