Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Testicles And Itchy Scrotum

default
Posted on Thu, 27 Oct 2016
Question: Visited Urologist today and scanned my testicles and said I have a hydrocele on Right test. He prescribed antibiotics, CIPRO, and said it appears I had an infection,though he did not state what kind of infection would end up causing a hydrocele.

Right now, my right testicles is painful, the scrotum on the right side tends to be itchy sometines and it would develop isolated flaky skin which peels off. This comes and goes.It itches and goes.

In XXXXXXX i had unprotected sex with some woman but she always maintained she had no history of any STD. Thereafter I went to see Dr who injected me and gave me medications IN CASE I MAY HAVE CONTACTED ANYTHING BAD, IT WAS A PRECAUTION.

Before seeing the urologist today I did a series of tests, blood and urine analysis, they came back good, save that Traces of Ketones where found in my urine.

Based on the above kindly assist me what could be going on;

Could there be a possibility that I contacted an STI despite the tests saying otherwise;

What does it mean to have Traces of Ketones in my urine, I am not diabetic;
What actually could have caused this hydrocele, i am baffled.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have developed hydrocele on Right side and have pain in Rt testicle .The hydrocele that you have developed is called as secondary hydrocele that develops due to bacterial infection of Testis (Orchitis).

I shall be happy if you can post me your all blood and urine report to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Are you taking any drugs apart from Cipro?
2) Are you sure that you are not diabetic?

The Ketone is the byproducts of fatty acid metabolism and small amount of ketone (3-15 )mg is excreted in urine and does not signify any pathology.

As regards acquiring STD from unprotected sex that you have in XXXXXXX since you do not have any symptoms it is unlikely that you have acquired STD however I would need to get it confirmed from your blood reports .

As regards treatment for hydrocele if it is minimal and secondary there is every possibility of it getting absorbed with Ciprofloxacin and anti inflammatory medication Diclofenac twice daily .

If it increases in size over a period of next few months you may need to consult qualified General surgeon for evaluation and get it operated .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.
