Question: I hit my head by walking into a closed glass door with my head down I was putting my hair up.that was at 2 pm today. I iced it and conducted two bible studies afterwards. I drove about twenty miles. It still hurts and has a swollen bruise. I am feeling kind of spaced but I have lupus so that could be from the heat. Should I go to the doctor? I did not lose consciousness but felt stunned and a bit disoriented afterwards. My husband says I seem fine. I also put a photo up of the bump. Thank you very much

From your description,any significant head injury is unlikely.If you had no symptoms like drowsiness/severe head ache/vertigo/nausea/vomiting/visual disturbances(watch carefully for these symptoms for next 20-24 hrs),this just indicates a contusion/subcutaneous hematoma.Continue ice application.If needed,you can also take simple analgesics for 3-5 days.
If any of these symptoms occur,rush to ER without delay.Otherwise,it will be cleared in a few days.If the swelling does not come down in 2-3 days,or seems progressing,your doctor will guide you in further management.
