Suggest Treatment For Painful Boil On The Buttocks
Question: hi any body there ?
Hi doctor
I have a big heat boil on the bottom on the left side...it is hard and big and is filled with puss and is making life difficult as i am unable to sit or sleep .
What medicine do you recommend for the pain and to burst the heat boil
?

Greetings of the day
Dear Sir,
Going by description it is likely to be gluteal abscess. It would be helpful if you could provide clinical photograph for assessment.
In the meantime I would suggest you the following
1. Hot Seitz bath: To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of antispetic solution. Sit in it for 15 to 20 minutes, thrice a day( let the water be as hot as you can tolerate). The warmthness will relieve the pain also reduce inflammatory congestion
2. Analgesic like Ibuprofen or Piroxicam will provide much needed relief from pain
3. Local application of antibiotic ointment like Mupirocin. After hot seitz bath, dry the area gently and apply ointment
4. Antibiotic like Amoxicillin thrice a day for 5 days will be effective
If the boil still persists then Surgical drainage by your Physician will be required.
