Swollen Rash On The Buttocks. Given Antibiotics For Bacterial Infection. Proper Treatment?
my son who is 36 has a rash and there is a swollen area under his butt cheeks...it feels like someone runs sandpaper across this area. He also says it felt like he had torn a muscle in his thigh. The balls of his feet are starting to swell. The doc at the clinic gave him some antibiotics for 5 days and said he has a bacterial infection......does this make sense?
It seems to like Gluteal Abscess. Due to the formation of pus in the gluteal area, there will be pain and swelling in that area. If it was a muscle tear than he will not be able to stand and walk properly. If there is large amount of pus it should be incised and drained. That will give instant relief from pain and swelling. Proper hygiene and wound care should be given. Take the antibiotics to its full course.
