Brief Answer:
Suggestive of External Hemorrhoids

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I can understand your concern.

After having gone through the history of painful bump of short duration and straining at the stools (prolonged sitting during stool time) and the uploaded picture I am of the opinion that you have features suggestive of external hemorrhoid (piles).

Hemorrhoids occur when the veins of the rectum or anus become inflamed because of too much straining in the area. When occur beneath the skin that surrounds the anus they are referred to as external hemorrhoids.

The most common cause of hemorrhoids is repeated straining like in constipation or forceful diarrhea. Straining reduces blood flow into and out of the area, which results in pooling of blood and enlargement of the vessels in that area.
I advise you to get examined by a general surgeon properly and to rule out other conditions like genital warts, and possible treatment.

I also advise you to
1. Avoid straining during bowel movements.
2. Increase the intake of dietary fiber like vegetables, fruits, and a stool softener like lactulose may be required for the relief of constipation.
3. Avoid taking hot and spicy foods, eat home cooked foods, avoid alcohol or alcohol containing beverages, drink plenty of water.
4. Do regular exercise

Hope the suggestions given above could be useful.

Brief Answer:
It depends upon the severity of the hemorrhoids.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, Hi
Thanks for your reply.
Most people recover well from their hemorrhoids with proper treatment like stool softener and lifestyle changes and do not have continued symptoms in the future. The time of recovery depends it may be 2-3 weeks or more.

In severe cases of external hemorrhoids, surgical treatment may be necessary.
