Is An Infant Not Passing Stools For 2 Days Normal?

2 month old baby boy, mix breast feed n formula, not passing motion for 48 hours. previously once daily with the same formula,normal stool,yellow,soft,straining a little but no crying. now passing gass, feeding n urinating normal. now weight 6.8kg, birth weight 4.16kg. previously I gave enema and lactulose and the stool was not even hard,and small amount. kindly advise tq

Hi,

If 48 hours passed without passage of stool, you may give him glycerin suppositories, which is most effective and safe at this age.
