Suggest Treatment For Painful Bumps On Labia
I have what I believe to be razor bumps on my labia. I shaved the area about 7 days ago and noticed the bumps 2 days afterwards. The last 3 days have been incredibly uncomfortable.
They're extremely painful. It hurts to walk, sit, and urinate. Uribating is especially painful. The entire area is tender and painful all the way back to my rectum.
There are about 7 larger bumps. Two days ago they were jusy sore. Yesterday they became more prevalent and painful. They are not extremely red, jusy noticably red. The area isn't swollen around the bumps. The bumps don't have a head, and there's nothing inside of them (that I can tell so far).
I have never experienced anything like this before, which is why its worrysome that its an std. I am sexually active. I have been sexually active with the same person for 8+ months and protection is always used. Nothing like this has ever happened.
What can I do to get relief? Should I consider having an exam?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I have read you query and I understand your concerns about bumps on the vulva.
Following is my reply:
1) The bumps you have described are related to your razor injury .
2) This is typically seen on vulva after such razor injury.
3) This takes about a week to heal completely.
4) Meanwhile sitz bath twice a day will help you to get relieved of pain and swelling.
5) Sitz bath is a small tub of warm water with salt and an antispeptic iodine solution in it. This will slowly absorb the edema and make it less painful.
6) This is not STD. Dont worry about it.
7) You dont need examination as of now.
I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.
Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.
