My thoughts:
As the diagnosis has been given by a Colo-rectal Surgeon, this is a local dermatitis of the skin of the inter-gluteal region.
I would advise you the following in such a condition:
Wash the area with plain water 2 to 4 times a day and make it dry with a cotton cloth or hair dryer.
Apply Solution Povidone Iodine to make the area sterile and let it dry up.
Use loose underwear and pants.
Avoid sudden changes of different temperature zones as it instigates sweating , which in turn enhances the dermatitis problem.
When at home, keep the area well ventilated.
Continue the antibiotic and add on probiotic which may help restore normal bowel movements.
Add on multivitamins as they act as an anti-oxidants.
Get Vitamin A and D estimates and get supplemented as per the reports, these are most needed to maintain the integrity of the mucosa and the skin.
Ask for Metronidazole orally as it helps to tackle atypical bacterial infections. Will be given if your Doctor feel the necessity.
With these measures it is possible to have a proper healing and avoid the recurrence. This helps most of my patients.
