Suggest Treatment For Panic Attacks, Increased Heart Rate And Body Muscle Pain

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Mar 2015
Question: 3 years ago I started having panic attacks. Went to a cardiologist to make sure it wasnt my heart. I have had every test done and everything was normal except my heart rate was over 110 and would spike up to 160 at times. And my blood pressure would go up. I was put on metoprolol tartrate half a pill twice a day. I have finally over come the panic attacks so my heart rate is normal now. I stopped taking the metoprolol 2 months ago and I have been fine. Then this week my head hurts my throat is sore and has pressure on the sides. Every muscle in body hurts. I have been taking my blood pressure and when I stand thats when the symptoms happen and when I check my pressure is always in 150s/90 to 110 every time. But as soon as I sit down it goes back to normal. And my pulse is fine. I can't get in to my doctors office for 3 more weeks is this something I should be concerned about it. What could it be.

Brief Answer:
needs anti hypertension medicines

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query.
I think I would be able to help you.

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of orthostatic hypotension. In this the blood pressure and the pulse rate are reduced on standing.

I usually suggest a high intake of the fluid. I have seen patients improve with just this and therefore I suggest the same to you.

Also your blood pressure is high. I feel maybe the medicine had been keeping it in check all the time you were having it and therefore you never felt a problem.

I suggest that you try a prescription for olmesartan or a similar group of medicine for blood pressure. This is a prescription drug and you will need to meet a local physician for the prescription.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
