Suggest Treatment For Persistent UTI

Question: Hi, I'm a 25 year old female married and I have two kids.. I started having recurrent uti in March this year.last month I went to the urgent care the saw little infection in urine, so doctor gave me Nutrofurantoin MONO-MCR 100mg twice a day for 5 days and he sent the urine to culture and he told when he gets the result if there is need to change the medicine hell contact me..8 days later my symptoms got better but not all the way.. And no one contacted me. So I went to the medical record and I got the result . It shows that I have EC and KLEPNE. The sensitivity of the medicine that the doctor prescribed it is S for the EC but it's Intermediate for the KLEPNE.and the test shows that there is many antibiotics that are S or XXXXXXX for the KLEPNE.. So my question is do you think I need one of the antibiotics that are S for the KLEPNE too ?
Brief Answer:
Continue with Nitrofuratoin (NFT).
Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxxxxxx and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i can understand your concern.
XXXXXXX i'd advise you to complete the course of the antibiotic.
You've a mixed type of UTI (urinary infection).
NFT is one of the best antibiotics to deal with this situation.
You should also be drinking about 12 glasses fluids daily.
If you've had more than 2 UTI's in the last 6 months,do the following tests :
1. blood routine,RBS,creatinine,LFT and platelets.
2. ultrasound scan-KUB,with residual urine.
You may send the reports here, for an expert opinion.
Wish you well.
