Suggest Treatment For Persistent Constipation
Question: I have a kidney stone which we are waiting for it to pass. I also have been constipated for 3days, can I take Miralax?
Brief Answer:
No
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but unfourtanetly Miralax is contraindicated to be taken in patients with kidney problems as it acts by decreasing fluid absorption from the GIT , decreased fluid absorption will be harmful for you as kidney stones requires increasing the fluid intake . I would recommend that you take lactulose syrup three times daily instead. I hope o answered your question. if you don't have any other clarifications then please close the discussion.
