Brief Answer:
Blood investigations needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
As such, there is no medicine to make the child happy, active and interested in food. However, lethargy can be a sign of underlying problems and calls for further investigation. I would insist you to get his blood checked for complete blood count and C-Reactive protein (CRP) level. Please let me know thereafter and based on the reports I would be able to suggest if further intervention is needed. If there is a bacterial infection, treatment of the same would make the child resume his playful and active nature.
Hope I have answered your query.
