
Suggest Treatment For Persistent Diarrhea When Diagnosed With IBS

Question: Two weeks ago I had persistent diahrrea for about 12 hours and then it went away. I was fine and had normal movements for 2 weeks but today it is back. I have IBS and no gall bladder.

Well it could be due to infection of the gut. Infection could be due to virus or bacteria. Most of the times it is due to viral infection which shall resolve in 2-3 days on its own. Till then you just need to hydrate well by drinking plenty of water and fruit juices.
If even after 3 days diarrhea is persisting then get a test called Stool Culture sensitivity and revert back with report as in that case you may have to be put on a course of Antibiotics.
