Question: Hi there I am 32. I have had diarrhea for 2 years since having my baby recently it has some blood and usually has undigested food paricularly tomatoes or papaya. 2 months ago I realized I am gluten and dairy Intolerant so I removed them along with all processed foods etc and eat all natural now. I just also found out I am fructose malabsorption so I am not sure if this is causing the main thing I am concerned about which are these white pieces which I feel may be tapeworm but not sure if they could be from past diet. my baby has them too. I also have jock itch on my vagina area. I also get very tired and confused. when u was eating garlic and onions frequently to try kill what I feel may be a tapeworm it makes me feel like u may go into a brain coma...same with the parasite rid herbs containing High frutons which I am intolerant to. I've also had bad acne on stomach, upper thighs and back and last year 8 yeast infections when I was breastfeeding.

Brief Answer:
Tapeworm infection can be diagnosed by stool exam.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to Health care magic.

I have gone through your query and I understand your worry about getting tenia or tapeworm infection.

I also understand that you have been suffering from gluten intolerence and repeated fungal infections which can cause quite a stress in your lifestyle.

Let us deal with your problems one by one.

Firstly, tapeworm infection is acquired by ingesting contaminated food or water with the tenia eggs.

Tapeworms are long, flat worms which can be shed in the feces.

Such patients usually have diarrhea and malnutrition.

The best way to diagnose this infection is by stool examination where typical tenia eggs can be seen under the microscope.

I suggest you get a stool examination done to rule out tenia infection.

The same can be done for your child too

Once infection is confirmed, relevant antihelminthic therapy can be taken.

Now coming to fungal infection of the vaginal area can be diagnosed by skin sample to be sent for fungal culture

This will confirm the fungus causing infection and appropriate therapy can be taken.

For now, stool exam needs to be done to relieve your anxiety regarding tenia infection.

I hope I have cleared your doubts.

Please get back if any more queries.

Thanks
