Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully passed through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to different causes:

- an inner ear disorder
- chronic degenerations of the cervical spine, which can cause headache mainly in the occipital region coupled with dizziness and neck pain
- low blood flow to the brain related to narrowing of the cervical arteries, which supply blood to the brain.

For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- a cervical spine X ray study
- a Doppler ultrasound of the cervical arteries
- complete blood count for possible anemia
- blood lipid profile for dyslipidemia
- fasting glucose for diabetes
- thyroid hormone levels for possible imbalance (thyroid dysfunction can cause dizziness)
- consulting with an ENT specialist and performing labyrinthine tests would be the next step to exclude possible inner ear disorders.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Could it be simply a dehydration issue?

Brief Answer:
I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

You should know that dehydration does not only cause dizziness, but also low blood pressure and your blood pressure values are not low.

So, this is less probable to be related to dehydration.

Anyway, to exclude this possibility, I would recommend taking plenty of water and fluids during the day.

If your situation is improved after a good hydration, there is no need to perform any additional tests.

Otherwise, I would recommend performing the above mentioned tests to investigate for the possible underlying cause.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri
