Brief Answer:
Breastfeeding causes delayed periods...
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.
Breastfeeding is a type of natural contraception. The hormonal changes during breastfeeding(prolactin levels) will cause delay in periods while levels of estrogen and progesterone are decreased.
As your baby is 2 years old until now, I recommend to stop breastfeeding.
I'm sure you'll get regular periods by then.
With regards to coughing, I recommend to get checked by your doctor to exclude pneumonia as you might need prescription antibiotics.
All the best.

I started getting period 2 months after delivery. it was regular for the last 16 months. I can't believe after 16 months got delayed period because of breastfeeding.
I don't think it is pneumonia because I don't have cold or phlegm now. I have only dry cough

Hi back my dear,
Pregnancy is excluded as long as test is negative.
Although your periods were normal, that does not mean, they will keep being normal.
We try to find out causes other than pregnancy.
One of them is breastfeeding. Another could be related to frequent cold and low immunity you had during these couple of months.
If no pneumonia, then dry cough is due to previous cold. Please keep in mind that sometimes, dry cough can persist weeks after having the cold.
Stomach hyperacidity like gastritis or acid reflux is often precipitated and can cause dry coughing.
Can keep using antihistaminic and antacids after meal for a few more days and see the results.
Hope this helps.
