Suggest Treatment For Persistent Dry Cough

Question: I have been having this dry cough for arounf 3 years now. Its something that comes and goes on its own. Like every 2-3 weeks. I recently visited a ENT, he has given me some allergic meds and told me to get a CT scan as he thinks there is something wrong with my nose which is causing this irritation in my throat. I went to one doctor 2 years back he too told me that my sinus shape or something is a little different and might need a minor correction. What do you think about this?
Currently, I sense something iritates my throat all of a sudden, and I start coughing, dry cough. Very annoying at times as I get up from sleep because of this.

I got my CT scan done, please find the uploaded report. Could you throw some light on what it says?

Also, currently on homeopathic meds now. What are your thoughts on that?

Brief Answer:
Your CT Scan report is not uploaded till now in this forum .

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX ,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , reviewed your medications and understand your concern.

Your CT Scan report is not uploaded till now in this forum . You can upload it in the reports section or alternatively you can e-mail it to YYYY@YYYY and keep the Subject as ATTN:Dr Krunal Karade and I'll get them..

After reading your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having
allergic rhinitis with post nasal discharge which irritates your throat causing dry cough .

Allergy can only be controlled with anti-allergy medication but difficult to cure completely . You will need to continue anti-allergy medication till allergy subsides completely .

If I were your treating doctor , I would advice
Saline nasal rinse or spray thrice daily ,
Antiseptic chlorhexidine Mouth Wash twice daily &
Combination Steroid nasal spray with antihistamine (Anti-allergy) 2 puff each nostril twice daily like Duonase nasal spray .

Gargle with salt water 20 mins after nasal spray use to remove any spray coming to throat .

You will get relief .You can discuss this with your treating doctor.

Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Regards.
