Question: I had abnormal fatigue for 3 or 4 weeks, then a cold with some shortness of breath and wheezing with cough deep in my chest. Two weeks after onset of cold, I was prescribed a z-pak, got better temporarily. Now 3 weeks out from that, fatigue continues with mild shortness of breath, wheezing and chest cough. any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. COld followed by cough and wheeze and shortness of breath after a few weeks is normal in some chronic cases as airways infection is common sequelae of some cold and flu. Z pack was wise . Now the fatigue, so like any other illness airways infection can cause body fatigue as well which just needs symptomatic treatment.

I would want you to have a heart function and lung function assessed and rule out any other cause for shortness of breath from fatigue apart from this post infection sequelae. Meanwhile continue home remedies like warm comforting beverages, adequate fluids intake and rest. Use of humidifier would also help.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
