Question: I am xxxxxxxx from XXXXXXX took consultation from you for ligament tear and bp sugar consultation for my husband madhavan. Now my son studying 12th std had fever from Wednesday 101. 7deg f. On Thursday we took him to the doctor and he gave cephalaxim and dolo. He has pain in his leg above ankle. Today morning fever stopped. Doctor advised us to go for blood test on 4th day if leg pain persists. Today my son told me that the motion colour was dark brown and says muscle problem above the wrist comes often and goes. My doubt is doctor these symptoms of colour change in motion and muscle problem refers to dengue? Two years back he was treated for dengue. Please advise me whether I should wait for 4th day to test blood or as a precaution can i admit him in the hospital. What home treatment I should give. I gave nilavembu kasayam.
Please reply. I am worried.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry about

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mrs xxxxxxxx,

I do remember you and Mr Madhavan. I hope both of you are healthy and doing well.

As far as your son's health is concerned,if the fever has completely stopped, then there should be no worry as such.If it was dengue, then the fever would go on increasing and the symptoms will worsen.

Muscle and joint pain can occur due to weakness resulting from fever and can occur in normal people too.

Dark brown stools can occur due to the medicines that he has been taking.I hope he does not have blood in stools.

In my opinion, there is no need to hurry.Wait and watch, let him drink plenty of water and fruit juices.Adequate rest is important.Give paracetamol as and when required.

To be on safer side, you can just get his blood checked for complete blood count, peripheral smear for malarial parasites, platelet count.

Let me know if i can help you more.

Thank you.
Best wishes

Doctor, yesterday night m son was not able to walk and had severe pain due to muscle cramps in both leg calf and back. We went to hospital at 11. 30pm. they took Blood test for dengue, cpk, serum electrolytes, complete blood count. All results are normal except cpk ratio is 254 and diagnosed as viral myositis. They advised to take rest and take plenty of fluids. Doctor how can i reduce cpk ratio level naturally and how long it will take to get normal. My son is doing 12th std and now writing quarterly exams. If muscle pain comes in school what should I do? Please reply.
