Suggest Treatment For Persistent Hardness At Injection Site After DTP Vaccination
Brief Answer:
No treatment is needed
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Persistent hardness or nodule is a very common complaint following DTP(Comvac contains DTP,Hib and Hep B) vaccination. This is due to aluminium preservative or Whole cell pertussis component.
Few babies are sensitive to aluminium and that causes persistence of hardness(nodules in few) without any pain or redness.
In most of the cases it subsides within 6-8 weeks but in some it may persists upto 6 months.
I won't get worried as this does not has any adverse effect and subsides on its own.You can go for her routine vaccination as per schedule.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Regards
