Suggest Treatment For Persistent Leg Cramps

I have a compression bandage on it now and that seems to help a bit.
Is this something that is potentially serious?

Muscle relaxants and hot massages will be helpful , avoid exertion on your leg . if cramps became more frequent i suggest you visit your physician for ruling the underlying cause by lab investigations and physical evaluation .
Detailed Answer:
Hi i am Dr Ahmed Aly
thanks for using HealthcareMagic site ,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns ..
I do not think it is something you have to take seriously unless this cramps are more frequent or accompanied by numbness or doesnt relax with stretching . some laboratory investigations like calcium levels, magnesium levels and electrolytes to rule any abnormalities that may cause such cramps .
You may take a muscle relaxant , B12 vitamin supplements , hot massages with topical gels with your compression bandaging , some flexible foot wear , high fluid intake to avoid dehydration , will be effective for most of cases .
Avoid vigorous manipulation , try to not over use your legs , bad sleeping or sitting postures , running for long distances .
If cramps persists or cramps without physical effort i recommend you visit your physician for proper evaluation and management .
