Suggest Treatment For Persistent Nausea And Vomiting

default
Posted on Mon, 27 Jul 2015
Question: I am experiencing nausea and in some cases vomiting when sometimes moving too quickly or from a sitting position.
My family doctor said it is from dehydration .
I have increased my water intake substantially.
This has alleviated a good deal of the symptoms but not all.
I vomited twice last week after playing miniature golf and moving around outside.

I am wondering if these episodes have anything to the crystals in my inner ear becoming dislodged or is it a gastronomical problem?

Dear as you are getting nausea and vomiting associated with motion ,it could be an inner ear problem.I would also like to know that have you got any change in your walking or disturbance in vision too and for how long you have been suffering this problem.
As these type of symptoms can happen because of inner ear fluid disbalance or any problem of vestibular system of ear.
There are some other diseases which can also cause these type of symptoms but I have some quiries to ask first to conclude any cause.
I would like to know wether you have any eye problem also ,like nystagmus(oscillatory movement of eyes )and headache too.
Hope I will hear from you again and will be happy to help you further.

I have been suffering from this condition for several years.
I wear a hearing aid and wear reading glasses, mild magnification .
There was a infection in opposite ear and antibiotic was applied.
No problem walking .
Unless I move getting up too fast.
Have experienced some blurred vision and some problem focusing eyesight during these episodes.
Unsure as to which comes first.
Slight headaches after vomiting of course.

Brief Answer:
You may need some investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Dear probable cause could be inner ear problem as there is vestibular system which connects to brain and sense movement of body for position of head. And if there is any problem in vestibular system like inflamation or sclerosis it can cuase these symptoms.
I would suggest you to go first for eye movement test and postural movement change test and rotatary chair test to rule out benign praxasomal positiotional vertigo .Which could be probable cause of your symptoms.
Other test you may need further are CT Brain, and blood pressure check up.To rule out any cerebellar disease or vestibilar nerve shwanoma (a benign growth of nerve)and orthostatic low blood pressure respectively and follow accordingly.
Hope my answer will be helpfull for you.You may ask further without hesitation.
Regards,Dr.Maheshwari.
