Suggest Treatment For Persistent Redness In Eyes
Question: Hello Doctor,
I am XXXXXXX age-24Yrs old. From past 1 month i am facing a severe reddish in my eyes.
I had consulted an eye specialist and they asked me to use the Lotepred (For 10days) & Carboxymethyl-cellulose sodium lubricant eye Drops (complete 5ml bottle) as there was an infection. Initially i felt relief with the above drops and after completely using the bottle of the eye drops as said by the specialist. Again my eyes started reddish after completion of the eye drops. Should i continue the above said eye drops or any other eye drops you prefer. There was an itching in my eye lashes before the treatment and after using the eye drops there is no itching but only reddish eyes. May i know the reason for this.
Please help me out in this.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Use of some antibiotic drop might help.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Your doctor must have found signs of inflammation and has prescribed Lotepred for the reduction of the same. You may use it again if required. But I feel that use of Ciplox (ciprofloxacin) drops four times daily for 5 days should be helpful. Talk to your doctor about that. The prior itchiness was due to the inflammation associated with the infection.
Carboxymethyl-cellulose sodium is a lubricant and can be used as per choice and convenience.
Let me know if I could help further.

Hello Doctor,
Thanks for responding. I would use Ciplox drops four times daily for 5 days. After using for 5 days i would see the status and respond accordingly.
Once again Thank You for responding and suggesting.
