Question : Hi doctor ! I have very dark under eye dark circles and Peri oral pigmentation Making me to look sick and ugly. I have a history of allergic rhinitis . I have tried many skin lightening products and chemical peels too. Nothing has cleared the pigmentation. Is there anything to get rid of it ???

Brief Answer: To rule out causes . Detail follows Detailed Answer: Dear Friend Welcome to Health care magic. I am Dr Charu , I will shortly try to help you with my opinion. Allergic rhinitis is itself very commonly associated with dark circles. There are many treatment options for dark circles and perioral hyperpigmentation. Some people get very good results and some do not respond much. I need to know 1. Your job profile and working hours 2. Sleep patterns 3. Are you taking any medications for any other condition I usually prescribe skin lightening creams containing kojic acid, vitamin C, arbutin, licorice. Along with it, sittings of chemical peels containing drugs like kojic acid and lactic acid are given in between. Usually very good results are seen. But in some cases, when it is constitutional or hereditary, it does not show good response. Also i suggest you to get Hemoglobin levels, serum ferritin levels. In conditions like anemia , additionally iron supplementation is required along with these treatment options which i already mentioned. I hope i am able to solve your query. Hi Dr XXXXXXX ! Thank u for ur kind reply. I'm not under any medication. I'm working in private company and I work only 6 hours.there is no stress and I usually sleep 8 -9 hours. I will try with peels. Can you please suggest me any skin cream containing kojic acid, vit c , arbutin and licorice? How long do I need to use it ? Can you also suggest a gud anti wrinkle cream as I have wrinkles under eye as well. Thanks in advance. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer: detail follows Detailed Answer: Hello dear Wecome again. You very nicely answered my questions. So definitely stress is not a cause. I usually prescribe dr XXXXXXX Avarta under eye cream twice daily application for 3 months....further depending upon the response. Have really got good response in most of the patients. you may discuss with your dotor and use it. If you do not have any further query , kindly close the discussion.
