Suggest Treatment For Pimple Like Sores On The Body
Question: I am experiencing multiple pimple like sores all over my body. This condition has been active for over a year and seems to be getting worse.i have had 2 biopsies done and both came up as insect bites. Have checked bedding etc for bedbugs and other signs. Even when I travel to other destination the condition continues. The sores come in single or multiple frequencies and generally heal in a few weeks . Itching is usually predominate from 4:00 to bedtime, and does not usually effect sleeping.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us.
I am Dr. Kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern. I request you to kindly upload a few images in "Reports Section" so that I am able to guide you better.
Also let me know which all body sites are predominantly involved? Are the finger webs, genitalia, lower abdomen, buttocks and pubic regions involved? Are there any more family members or close contact affected similarly?
Regards

Only the lower abdomen periodically has a few. No other family members have any problems. And the areas you questioned have not been involved. I m not really computer literate to send pictures but they appear like an acne or a bug bite. The lesions seem to concentrate ine one area for a period of time, but not all in one day. They also will still be in other areas
Brief Answer:
A more potent steroid and Oral antihistamine
Detailed Answer:
Thank you.
I would keep a possibility of 'Xerosis with pruritus' and another possibility of 'Prurigo simplex'.
Firstly, I suggest you to use a moisturizer, all over, twice daily.
In addition I would suggest you to use a moderately potent topical steroid cream for the itchy sores e.g either mometasone furoate 0.1% cream Or triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream Or Desoximetasone 0.25% cream, twice daily. Cortisone is too mild and unlikely to offer much relief.
You may also take a tablet of an Oral antihistamine e.g Cetrizine 10mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
