Suggest Treatment For Poor Alignment Of Eyes After Orbital Floor Reconstructive Surgery
First of all i got an exophthalmos by 1,5mm as the ophthalmologist said,my left eye is protruding forward by 1,5mm.
2nd of all i dont know how to explain that cause of my bad english, but the doctor fixed my orbital floor in a way that the floor, where the bone starts to support the eye, is 1-2mm more up than the others side, pressing my eye out.I mean when i stick my finger in my skin, under the eyeball on the right side,my finger can cave in a bit.If i do this on the operated side, theres no space between my eyeball and the orbital floor for my finger there to cave in the skin, plus the meat there is really hard.
But the most important and weird thing is MY VISION!I can`t even enjoy a pc game anymore. It`s not that i see blurry or double. It feels like the eyes are not well alligned,it feels like the left eye does not focus where the right eye does. When i am reading books,i miss the lines, like my eyes are focusing on different letters, and when i play pc games and i see something moving, everything goes a bit blurry and my head gets dizzy, specially when i have things moving, like i am losing the perception of the whole enviroment around me.When things are stable,it feels better.Even outside in real life when i pass the street and i see the cars moving,i am getting dizzy, like i am losing the focus and i can not control it.If i put a letter as a target and i try to focus on the specific letter, after 1-2 seconds one of my eyes, prob the left one,is losing foccus and tries to look somewhere else. And the weirdest thing is that, when i CLOSE one of my eyes, everything becomes perfectly normal,no matter which eye i close, vision, movement of objects and motion becomes normal.I ended up to patch one of my eyes so i can enjoy my pc games properly.I can`t do that outside though.
I went to many opthalmologists that checked my eye movement and vision, and they said that i have a 99% clear vision, movements of the eye muscles is just fine and the only thing they see is the exophthalmos and that noone will risk to fix that back in place cause such a surgery is tricky and risky.
Please doctor,is there anything else i can do to fix at least my vision,or i have to live like that until i die?Makes me really depressed.
Thank you in advance

Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for sending your query to us.
First of all let me emphasize that you had a wonderful surgery. The space under the eye ball is normal and since that is the area where all the surgery is done there is some scarring and there is less space there.
There is not much to be done about the exophthalmos and probably with the passage of time that willimprove.
Let us talk about your main problem, this disorientation is due to unn equal tucking up of one muscle in the eye..For a accurate assessement we have to consult an ophthalmologist who should send you to a orthoptist and orthoptist should do a examination on HESS 'S chart. This will give us an accurate location of the point of mischif and that can lead us to plan the strategy to help you
In the meanwhile you can as an exercise do eye movement exercise in horizontal extreme right and left direction, oblique in X manner rt.upper to lt.lower and lt upper to rt lower and circular clock and and anti clockwise direction.
i hope i have made it clear to you.
Please do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
Some times i feel that my left eye,the brown is looking more leftwards off the centre of the eye, while the right one is looking completely forward being in the centre.
I can see that as well when i am looking at the mirror, specially from a distance.
Is there any possibility that the muscle is dead, and maybe i have a lazy eye??

Thanks for getting back to us.
No,you do not have a lazy eye. There is aome amount of muscle imbalance produced due to this reconstructive surgery that has to be assessed by an orthopist. In the mean while the eye movement exercises i explained may probably be helpful.
Again i must emphasize that you had a good surgery.
Please do get back to me in case of any further query.
Cause when i do the test with closing one eye first and then the other to compare pictures, the picture is not different only horizontaly, but in height as well.
For example, when i close my right eye(the good one),picture appears lower in hegiht, and when i close the left one, picture appears a bit more up.
That means that the left eye is higher positioned than the right one no?
Shouldn`t the difference be just horizontal?

Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for getting back to us.
You seems to have developed a vertical squint due to orbital repair.
There are muscles which move the eye horizontallt and another set of muscles move the eye ball vertically. One of the vertical muscle is damaged and that is not moving the eye in co ordination with the other eye and you are having this problem. Consult ophthalmologist, ask him to get your muscle balance checked by an orthoptist. Your doctors will be able to plan some remedial measures based on the test results.
Any further query, please do get back to me.
What other possiblee treatments can we get for that? Glasses?
Plus my muscles passed the test of movement clear,i mean the one that asks you to folow their finger in many directions

Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for getting back to us.
Firstly the problem is to be pinpointed as to where is the defect. The glasses for this are prisms which tend to help the situation. If this does not help then corrective surgery is done.
Any further issue, you are welcome.
