Suggest Treatment For Poor Vision In An Elderly

He sometimes tells eyes are not visible.
Some doctors says at this age we can do operations.
Can you suggest what approach we need to take.
He requires preliminary eye examination.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to health care magic
I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.
It seems from the history that your grand father is having vision related problems.
As he is 82 years old it is common to have age related problems like cataract, age related macular degeneration, corneal degenerations....
The treatment depends on the cause. Hence first thing to be done is eye examination by a ophthalmologist to find out the underlying cause and treatment to be planned depending on the cause.
Cataract requires surgery and it can be done at this age, age related macular degeneration requires treatment by injections which also can be done at this age...
For most of the eye surgeries age is not a limiting factor as most of the eye surgeries are less time consuming and day care surgeries.
Hence I advice you yo get a preliminary eye examination and do write me back and depending on the examination result treatment can be planned.
Hope the information is helpful.
Thank you
With regards
