Suggest Treatment For Post Acne Scars

I am 29 years old married woman. Until 3 years ago, I had a huge problem of acne. I took medications to get rid of them. While i do not have acne anymore on the rest of my face, I have some permanent group of skin protruding on my chin, just below the lip area, which never goes away. Based on the season and weather, it increases or decreases but I have not seen my plain chin for almost 8 years now. About 1.5 years ago, I had visited a dermatologist who performed a surgery on them to burn them from the inside. But after the scars of the surgery were gone, they reappeared. Is there a way to get rid of them permanently?

HI
I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same .
From the description, it looks like you have developed post acne scars over your chin region. But I would like to have a look at the exact skin lesions before we can discuss the treatment options .
Please click some close up pictures of the skin condition and upload them here on this page . You can also mail them at YYYY@YYYY with heading as ref to Dr Geetika Paul .
Also please tell if you still develop any new acne lesions on and off.
Are you a currently applying any medicines or cream over the face.
I am sure I will be able to help you more once you provide me the above details and the pictures .

Thanks for responding to my query. I am unable to attach the pictures here so I will send them to you through email in a short while. Please note that in the pictures, there is a big one you will see towards the lower side of my chin, which is actually a pimple I developed a few days ago. The rest of what you see below my lip area is what is permanent and doesn't go away. They don't give me any pain and don't release any pus or white/black heads.
I am not sure what you call acne lesions. If you are talking about pimples, yes they come and go away sometimes. I don't get pimples on my cheeks or forehead anymore. They usually appear on the side of the nose, upper-lip area (area below the nose) or the end of the chin, like the big one you will see in the pictures. I usually get pimples after I eat egg, but without it as well.
I don't apply anything on my face currently. The only thing I do is apply a multani mitti or a XXXXXXX face pack once every 1 or 2 weeks.
Also, I sometimes feel that this issue arose as a side effect of the medication I took for acne. But i can't say that with surety. But my chin used to be plain and this occurred only after I started taking medication for acne.
I hope this will help you understand my issue better.

Post acne scars, need long treatment
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
I have seen the attached picture .
You surely have a lot of hypertrophic post acne scars over your lower face area.
You seem to have undergone cryosurgery for the raised lesions earlier.
Now as far as the present skin condition is concerned , I would suggest you to see your treating doctor to discuss the option of oral retinoid drugs for treatment of both the pimples and the residual scars.
I am sure this treatment therapy should be of help in your skin condition . Now at present , you can use topical tretinoin cream 0.1percent at night . Apply it over the pimples as well as the rest of the raised lesions. But make sure you apply only a little amount and do not rub the medicine too much. This will help in reducing the irregularities in the skin in the chin region.
Although this medicine will help you to some extent, but you might need oral therapy along which your treating doctor can assess and decide upon.
Also you should avoid touching or picking the affected area as it will lead to more scarring.
Do not apply any oil or creams over the face.
Use a sunscreen on regular basis.
Hope it answers your query
Please ask if you need any further clarifications
