Brief Answer:
Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.

I understand from your query that you have developed marks on your upper lip after waxing.

You have a feature to upload the images by yourself at the right side of the query page, please utilize that so that I can answer your query better. You can also send the image as attachment to YYYY@YYYY , with the subject as 'Attn: Dr. Johny Chacko'.

How many days/ weeks back did this happen?

You could apply a lightening cream containing 2 % Kojic acid and Vitamin C (e.g- Clearz plus) twice a day for 6 weeks.
Please use a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 and above every 4 hours as sunlight exposure can darken any mark on the skin.

Please revert back with the clinical photograph so that I may add to your treatment regime if required.

Regards,
Dr. Johny Chacko

Brief Answer:
Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the clarification.

You could use a broad spectrum sunscreen like Neutrogena ultrasheer dry touch sunscreen/ Loreal UV aquaessence. Both of these cover UV A and UV B spectrum, non oily and cosmetically acceptable.

Unfortunately, I do not see any clinical picture being uploaded.

Could you please send it again or contact healthcare magic to help you?

Dr. Johny Chacko

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have seen your clinical picture.

It could lighten in 8 weeks time with the treatment I have mentioned earlier.

You could also get chemical peels treatment ( Glycolic peel) by a good dermatologist. This will hasten the lightening process.

Hope this helps you.

Wishing you good health,
Dr. Johny Chacko

Hi,

Thanks for providing clarification. Can i use only mentioned products or in addition to these do i need to take chemical peel treatment, is it mandatory? if in that case could you please tell me how much it costs?

And also mention that when can i apply these creams (Clearz plus). Is this marks will lighten permanently ? am feeling difficulty and uneasy to step out side.

can you solve this ambiguity.

Thanks a Lot!

Brief Answer:
Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Greetings!

I suggest that you try the creams for about 8 weeks. If you are not happy with the changes, you can go for chemical peel treatment.

Apply the lightening cream in the morning after bath at bedtime only on the spots.

Sunscreen must be used on the entire face ( it will improve your overall skin tone also) every 4 hours. Apply 20 minutes before stepping out in the sun. Avoid direct sunlight by carrying an umbrella.

Chemical peels like glycolic peel can be done by a dermatologist. The cost varies from doctor to doctor. It ranges approximately from Rs. 750 to Rs. 1000 per session.

The marks will definitely lighten. Do not worry. Concentrate on work / studies so that you do not get too anxious about this issue.

Hope this clears your doubts.

Take care.
