Suggest Treatment For Posterior Tibial Tendonitis
Question: Hello, my 80 year old mother has been diagnosed with posterior tibial tendonitis that the doctor thinks is from a lifetime of pronation. What do you think is the cause of this now, and what relief or correction is the most likely to be successful??
Thanks.
Thanks.
Brief Answer:
Wrong foot wear can be the reason.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Using wrong foot wear can be the reason for posterior tibial tendonitis. Consulting a podiatrist and designing a proper suiting foot wear will be helpful.
If pain persists, then I would suggest injection of local corticosteroids like Triamcinolone. You can also apply NSAID gels like ketoprofen or Diclofenac for local application, it'll provide symptomatic relief.
Let me know if anything's not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
