Brief Answer:
your description is that of premature ejaculation....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Let me assure you, the problem of this sort is very common in young adults who are sexually inexperienced. I presume you had good erection before penetration. If the erection was good, the difficult to penetrate is most likely due to lack of foreplay.

Vaginal orifice should be sufficiently lubricated to ease penetration. It is during foreplay, vaginal and genital organs secrete secretions that lubricate the orifice and helps penetration. In some women, there is a need to use artificial lubricants to ease penetration. Therefore the next time, you and your partner need to spend time in foreplay.

And as far as ejaculation is concerned, what you describe is known as premature ejaculation. It refers to a condition where men ejaculate before female reach orgasm. There are medical drugs available to treat premature ejaculation. However those drugs can lower the sensual experience of intercourse. Therefore before you use those drugs, try other tips which will allow you to last longer. Some tips that I suggest young couples are:
1. Women on top position.
2. Use of condom that are coated with desensitization solution. The condoms are branded as long last or delay condoms. Check with the pharmacist.
3. Stop and start technique. Here you stop intercourse just before you feel the urge to ejaculate. Pinch the base and tip of penis for a minute and restart.
4. Lastly some men are able to get a second erection within few minutes after first. If you are one among them, try again. The second erection usually will last longer than the first.

In other words, what you and your partner experienced are quite common in young adults with least or no sexual experience. Do not be worried.

Lastly, it is important that you practice safe intercourse always. Therefore always use condom unless and until you are planning for pregnancy.

Hope this addressed your concern. Feel free to ask questions.

Brief Answer:
Viagra is for lack of erection....

Detailed Answer:
Sildenafil (viagra) is for lack of erection. It has almost no role in treatment of premature ejaculation.

From your description it sounded like you did not face problem with erection. You reported inability to penetrate and early ejaculation. My previous suggestion holds good for such problems.

Be assured. You are not alone. I have discussed and treated similarly to most young adults and most of them had good results with it.
