Question: My son had his gallbladder removed today, but the doctor said there are three gall stones he didn't get and plans to go through the esophagus tomorrow to alleviate the problem. Does that sound reasonable?

Brief Answer:
He may remove the stones by ERCP.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Once the gallbladder is removed, all the stones in it would have come out.
I think there were stones left in the Common bile duct (CBD) which can be removed by ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde cholangiopancreatography). Here,a flexible scope is passed through the mouth and removes the CBD stones.
It is a safe procedure. Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish him good health.
Regards
