Suggest Treatment For Pressure And Pain In The Head Post Injury

Question: Hi,

Hit top of my head yesterday getting out of the car. It was mostly on the soft part of the roof of car, but I did hit it pretty hard. I immediately had a fairly bad headache and took Tylenol. Hours later I seemed ok. I went to sleep with slight pressure and slight headache returning. I awoke with no headache and went to work all day. By 5pm (exactly 24 hrs later) my headache returned. Feels like extreme pressure not really pain. Doesn't hurt to touch area that was hit. Just tons of pressure! I didn't black out after, just immediate headache. Pupils fine. Just worried about a delayed hematoma. Would a hit like that warrant such a scare? I'm very irritable because of tension in head. I'm also a bit dizzy.

Brief Answer:
It could just be stress reaction

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thank you for posting your question on Health Care Magic.
First of all since the impact was on the soft part of the roof any major injury is unlikely, unless you are on any blood thinners.
But since you say the impact was very forceful this is what is slightly confusing to completely negate a haematoma.
And you also say that it is only like a pressure and not headache and no vomiting also.
I would recommend you to wait for a day more since 24 hours have already passed by.
Even after that you continue with symptoms and if you have any vomiting or visual disturbances get a CT scan done and see a neurosurgeon immediately. You can take tylenol 6 hourly.
Hope this helps
Best wishes

If the tension headache/pressure feeling are constant and not going away with Tylenol, is that normal? It's not debilitating, and doesn't seem to be getting worse. It's just constant and not going away. Just woke up and it's still there after 7 hours of sleep!

Brief Answer:
No it is not

Detailed Answer:
Hello again, if the headache and pressure feeling is constant then definitely it is not normal.
If it has not come down and persists even today I would recommend you to get a CT scan done.
Best wishes
