Vain of ankle on tibia bone is getting black and hard. Their is no pain in it. In the starting, there was a half of the wheat size thickness i felt on this vain which was paining initially. latter on it got blackish and progress to through the vain uptil vain is visible. I had consulted a dermatologist who suggest me to consult a vascular surgeon.
It seems like Superficial Thrombophlebitis.

Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
I am a Vascular Surgeon practising at New XXXXXXX
The complaints you mention are suggestive of what we call Superficial thrombophlebitis or blockage of superficial veins of the leg. I would need to examine you to be sure or a photo of the involved area could help.
Also, do let me know whether there were any visible big veins in the leg before this happened?
Do you have pain in the blackened vein?
Is there any swelling in the calf or thigh?
This is usually managed with medicines but we need a test called a Color Doppler of the venous system of the involved limb before starting treatment. Please get that done and let me know the report. This can be done at any Radiology or Imaging center.
We usually manage this with Heparin or Thrombophob ointment to be applied locally 2 to 3 times a day, compression therapy with Class II compression stockings and Tab Paracetamol 650mg twice a day for 5 days.
Please let me know if there are any queries and send me a photo along with the answers to above questions.
Take care,
Dr Rishi, XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thank you for your answer.
It is superficial thrombophlebitis but luckily it has not involved the important superficial vein of the lower limb. There is no need to worry. Just follow the treatment that I had suggested and it should be fine.
You should get some more tests done which would be blood tests of Serum CEA, CA19.9, PSA, AFP and BHCG. Also get a CBC and RFT done.Get these done and the Doppler and send me the reports when you can and I can advice further.
Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
