Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic
Iam Dr. DADAPEER K, an ophthalmologist and I naswer health related problems related to eye.
Following blepharoplasty it is quite common to have to edema of the eye lids leading to puffiness. It decreases gradually over 3-6 months to decrease completely.
This much long duration is because of looseness of the tissues of the eyelids.
The common things which can be done are head end elevation and use of cold compress.
Drugs like seratiopeptidase can be used because of their anti-inflammatory activity to reduce the post operative edema.
If the edema is resistant, the following things need to be considered like
Infection
Allergic response to the medications
The treatment of the above conditions is by use of antibiotics and steroids respectively.
These should be considered in cases associated with pain, discomfort or itching along with puffiness.
Hence as of now you can do cold compression and drugs like seratiopeptidase and if the puffiness is not decreasing need to rule out infection and allergic blepharoconjunctivitis.
Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Thank you
